My Work Table...

Last week was creatively calm... I always have some kind of artist's block just before my birthday, so the strange project below was the only thing I was capable of ! :) I decided to call it - The Wardrobe Party...because this wooden panel (when closed) looks like my grandmother's old wardrobe. And I think it is a great place to party, especially if you are a strange pale being in a strange striped costume...:) It is not finished yet (the outside part), but I think I will make it this week. And two small wooden chests on the last picture will be cozy homes for two little mummies...:)

Party time! :)

Erinle's Notebook - Page 8...

This is the 8th page from Erinle's notebook. She has gathered zombies from her neighborhood for a birthday party. And she probably promised them some brains...I mean, some sweets! :) And they love parties and especially party hats and birthday brains...I mean, birthday cakes! :) Lets celebrate together!

Yummy-yummy-yum...

Good news, everyone! :)

I'm not a Professor Farnsworth, so the news are really awesome... Tomorrow is my birthday! And because of it, something interesting will happen in my Etsy store from March 29th till April 29th... Everyone, who will buy something from me will receive a small surprise... a tiny random Party Zombie! :) There will be also a special free shipping coupon code - HAPPYBIRTHDAY - for those who will order something for $50 or more...
In case you didn't know - I always give a permanent discount (10% off) to my repeat customers...

By the way, the next page from Erinle's notebook will be posted tomorrow! Stay tuned! :)

My Work Table...

The four spirits (elements) are finally ready. They look good together, don't you think? :)
I found some interesting beads (they are heavy, nicely polished and look like stones) in my supplies and decorated with them the Fire Spirit and the Earth spirit.  Each one is painted with acrylics and then covered diluted silver paints and only then varnished.
Three of them are already available in my store - WaterFire and Earth... I will add Air in the next few days.

Water, fire, air and earth...
And here you can see the Yellow Lizard Manor. And I'm quite proud of it! :) Last year I created a little black cabinet of curiosities from a tiny wooden chest and liked it very much. And this is the second wooden chest project... another reality in a small box! :) Do you remember the map of Erinle's world? The Yellow Lizard Manor is located somewhere above the Bottomless Lake...:)
The inside of the manor...
No one knows, who lives there...even Erinle. She says, that sometimes strange little critters are seen entering the home or barn... A mystery, I say! :)

The outside of the manor...

Erinle's Notebook - Page 7...

It has finally come! Today the weather was warm, the sun shined and the fresh notes of the spring melody were in the air... That is why the 7th page from Erinle's notebook is so bright! :)
Here you can see an evil tree. The Forgotten Forest is full of them... They fall asleep in the late autumn and wake up in March...quite hungry! Their favorite meal is lonely travelers that lost their way through the Forest... Beware of Evil Trees! :)

My Work Table...

The previous week was quite productive. I painted and sculpted a lot!:)
Below you can see the results... The first painting is called The Apple Storm. I am simply thrilled with this colour combination (yellow+grey+black). The story is simple. There are coral bunnies that feed on apples...Once a month the Apple Storm comes to their forest and the apples start falling...and the bunnies are ready to pick them up! :)

The Apple Storm
And this little fellow is a water spirit... I plan to create four spirits - water (done), fire, air and Earth. I've found doll eyes in the local store - so I plan to use them on these sculptures.

The Water Spirit

This is another painting... It is called Twilight Falls. It depicts the towers of the Dark Town from Erinle's reality and the fields of everblooming flowers just before the sunset... :)

Twilight falls...
And this is another Zombie couple! The Zombie Newlyweds... They are already sold and I'm thinking about creating a Made To Order listing...:)

Erinle's Notebook - Page 6...

I am a little bit late today, but here it goes - the 6th page of Erinle's notebook! :)
Mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms... Do you remember Fungus Vampirus from previous posts? Well, these little fellows are strange but not dangerous... They appeared in Erinle's garden only this morning, so she doesn't know much about them. But they seem nice and friendly...:)

Erinle will try to find more info about them in the Great Book of Shrooms...

...and then will tell us more! :)

My Work Table...

Now that was a crazy experiment... I stitched a journal! :)  And the stitching process wasn't so difficult... I actually liked it a lot. So here comes The Zombie Book...  It has 70 sheets (140 pages) and the front cover is decorated with my beloved polymer clay zombies. Oh, and with four little skulls!
I made it using the Coptic stitch...

And this is Norman the Poisonous! Another weird  Erinle's neighbor... He grows venomous apples in his garden...Apples of Doom! :) Norman is made from paper and imagination (these two components always work for me).  You can find him here!

Please, don't eat his apples! :)

And this is my second Shroompling. And as you can see - he is not alone! :) I finished him today and he is waiting you right here ! :) I like mushrooms a lot, the diversity of their forms and colours simply fascinates me...

Erinle's Notebook - Page 5...

It's Friday again and I am here with the new page from Erinle's notebook...:)
This time it is an entrance to the Forgotten Forest... This forest is quite ancient, full of old giant trees, dark corners, unknown animals and even ghosts... Erinle likes to take long walks there! :)

Although the forest is mysterious and ancient, it is quite colourful...

But don't go there without Erinle...:)

And below you can see the map of Erinle's world! :) I've had unfinished sketches of it for ages... but I finally finished it today! Maybe I will change some titles and names in the future, but at this moment everything seems right to me...

Try to find Erinle's House... :)

My Work Table...

Calendar Spring has come to  town... And that is really nice! :) Here are my newest creations - another merry vegetable (this time, an eggplant), an Easter egg and a spooky mixed media project.  By the way, this eggplant makes me smile every time I look at it...:)

The Merry Eggplant

And this is Frederick the Easter Egg... and he looks great on the wall! :) I plan to make three more, the paper mache forms for them are ready, I just need to attach the hanging loops and then paint them.

Frederick the Easter Egg
And this one is a bit complicated...in a good way! :) I've started it in the end of 2013 and now it is finished. I didn't plan to frame it, but after I attached the sea stones and the ghostly (or ghastly) clay creature, I decided to put it in a frame by myself and I don't regret it! :) This one is called The Silent Guardian... A lost soul of a dark wizard guards a forlorn wishing well in the middle of a forest...
